Rune & Board is hiring!

Do you like working with the public? Are you passionate about board games and RPGs? Rune and Board is looking for a part-time assistant manager with a focus in board games and collectible card games. This is a part-time, hourly position. Pay is between $17.30 and $21.00 plus annual bonus

Primary activities:

• Deliver high-quality, customer-focused services to diverse customers of all ages
• Working with management on identifying sales trends based on sales data, projected product releases, and similar data
• Ordering inventory from our suppliers and processing incoming inventory
• Help manage our POS system for sales and inventory maintenance
• Process TCG trades, including pricing, conditioning, and listing on an online marketplace
• Shipping online orders and delivering them to the post office
• Assisting with our social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram and Discord
• Updating content on our webpage
• Opening and closing the cash drawer and verifying accurate drawer counts and deposits
• Organizing and running events for our product lines

Basic Qualifications:

• Previous experience in customer service, retail, food service, or library services as a team lead, shift lead or similar
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and nights until 10pm
• College-level writing skills
• Strong critical thinking skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis
• Computer literate
• Knowledge of tabletop games, trading card games and hobby gaming
• Standing for extensive amounts of time, walking, bending, reaching and lifting objects up to 50 pounds
• Effective organizational and time management skills, including the ability to task-switch, manage multiple projects at the same time and adapt to changing priorities
• New hires must pass a criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with merchandising
• Experience with Lightspeed POS
• Proven event organization skills for up to 40 people
• Associate’s degree or equivalent hours of education

Rune & Board is a small, locally owned game store located in downtown Hillsboro. We have been in business since 2016, with a focus on role-playing games, CCGs and tabletop gaming.
